The problem with antistatic additive materials in the past has been the fact that they are migratory in their performance. Once added to the base material they will migrate to the surface where they react with ambient moisture to create a dissipating chain.  A dissipative chain migrating to the surface of the material will cause contamination or corrosion of sensitive materials making any contact with it.
ZEAL HAS ADOPTED NEW TECHNOLOGY
Specialist chemical companies have introduced a new generation of additives which will create a wholly embedded and non-degradable dissipative chain.  These new materials will not migrate and cause contamination through surface contamination or via the generation of loose particulates.

Since the early 1990's ZEAL Clean Supplies has been producing ultra-clean and ultra-pure polythene -entirely within a Class 1000 cleanroom.
PARTICULATE FREE
We developed a unique set of processes and redesigned traditional polythene extruders to allow this to happen.  The end result is low-density polythene that is consistently free of any significant particulate contamination.  
TESTED ON AN ONGOING BASIS
We constantly sample and check our production - using the Fraunhoffer Intitut laboratories in Germany and have absolute confidence that our Class 1000 produced LDPE will be the cleanest available anywhere in the world.
AND CONTAMINANT FREE.
It is not enough to protect the products that you make in your controlled clean processes from particulates alone.  Most commercially produced polythene film will contain a cocktail of chemicals and compounds that are added to the raw material to ease production or enhance the performance of the finished film.
Such is the nature of polythene that most of these additives will, over time, migrate to the surface of the finished film and cause a significant  risk of contamination of anything coming into contact with the film surface.
At ZEAL Clean Supplies we add nothing to our polythene - our principle is simple  If the contaminants are not added at the beginning of the process they cannot appear and do their damage later.
ALWAYS MADE TO CUSTOMER SPECIFICATION
We never manufacture our Cleanroom Polythene to stock.  Everything we make is to a specific order and to a customer specification.  The specification will allow our customers to dictate size, thickness and finished format - bags, tube reels or single wound sheet

* Sizes. Width of film or tubes or dimensions of bags
* Thickness of film.

Text Box: NEW NON-MIGRATORY ANTISTATIC FORMS
The dissipative chain is formed entirely within the body of the host film. There is no migration to the surface.
Degradation of the antistatic properties no longer takes place, the effective antistatic performance is valid for up to 48 months.
There is no surface contamination to compromise sensitive materials coming into contact with the film.
Liquid particle count tests at the Fraunhoffer Institut demonstrate intrinsic cleanliness.

The dissipative chain is formed as the additives migrate to the surface of the film and combine with ambient moisture.
This antistatic layer is easily removed or damaged by any sort of contact or friction.
This will limit the life of the effective antistatic performance of the material. Possibly to only 10 - 12 weeks.
This antistatic layer is also easily absorbed by sensitive materials that come into contact with it - for example pharmaceutical powders.

Text Box: We have a standard CLEANFOIL format.  It is designed to give what is our view of an optimum price/performance balance. However we understand that different customers will have their own requirements.
We have organised our supply chain and our manufacturing processes in such a way that we can manufacture any combination of thicknesses of Polyester / Aluminium Foil / polythene  that meet customer requirements (though realistic minimum order quantities may apply).
Simply tell us what format or performance that you think you need from your barrier packaging and ask for a price and lead time.

This is not conducive to true cleanliness:
There will almost certainly be significant particulate contamination.
The commercially produced polythene carries the risk of surface contamination caused by process additives.

Text Box: ZEAL Clean Supplies recognised that there are some companies who are working in very clean controlled environments who need to give their products barrier protection as well as ensuring that cleanliness and purity is maintained.  At the same time they need the facility to carry out visual inspection or read bar-codes through the packaging.  This is simply not possible with foil based materials.

Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: The secret of TRANSCLEAN is the use of the latest technology in beam deposited Aluminium Oxide coatings.  A dense layer of minute particles that overlap to create high barrier to everything but light.  And yet the layer is only microns thick. 
When this layer is embedded between its polyester carrier and ZEAL cleanroom produced polythene it provides a significant yet robust barrier to moisture and gasses.  Robust enough to hold high levels of vacuum around difficult objects, as in the photo above, for many months.
